FROM THE CARIBBEAN TO THE WORLD, FROM THE WORLD TO THE CARIBBEAN

FOUNDING MANIFESTO

PREAMBLE

CPGNNews, CaribPulse Global News Network, was founded on a simple but demanding conviction: journalism must do more than transmit information. It must help people understand the forces that shape their societies, the connections between events, the interests at work, the evidence available, the uncertainties that remain, and the consequences that may emerge from decisions taken today.

In a world saturated with information, the essential challenge is no longer simply access to facts. It is the capacity to distinguish what is established from what is alleged, what is documented from what is asserted, what is analysis from what is opinion, and what is genuinely significant from what is merely immediate. CPGNNews was created to contribute to that work of understanding through journalism that combines independence, verification, context, intellectual rigor, human dignity and international perspective.

Legally established in the Republic of Haiti on March 20, 2026, CPGNNews is conceived from its foundation as an international public interest media institution. The Caribbean is its place of origin and an essential point of observation, but it is not the limit of its horizon. CPGNNews looks outward from the Caribbean toward the world and, with the same commitment, brings the realities, ideas and experiences of the wider world back into Caribbean understanding. This founding orientation is expressed in a principle that defines the intellectual movement of CPGNNews:

From the Caribbean to the World, From the World to the Caribbean!

It is not merely a geographical formula. It is a commitment to reciprocity, intellectual openness and a journalism capable of connecting places, societies, institutions, histories and human experiences without reducing them to stereotypes or isolated narratives.

  1. AN INTERNATIONAL MEDIA INSTITUTION BORN IN THE CARIBBEAN

CPGNNews was born in the Caribbean because the Caribbean possesses a particular historical and intellectual position from which to observe the world. It is a region shaped by encounters between civilizations, peoples, languages, political traditions, economic systems and cultural influences. Its history has been marked by colonialism and independence, migration and diaspora, political transformation, economic vulnerability, cultural creativity and extraordinary forms of social resilience.

To be born in the Caribbean is therefore not to accept a peripheral position in the global conversation. It is to recognize that the Caribbean has perspectives of its own and that those perspectives can contribute meaningfully to the understanding of international affairs.

CPGNNews considers the Caribbean a foundation, not a boundary. Its journalism may begin with Haiti or another Caribbean society, but it is not confined to regional subjects. The institution is designed to examine the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the broader international system, as well as the increasingly interconnected spaces created by technology, finance, science, migration, diplomacy, culture and global institutions.

The Caribbean provides a perspective from which to observe the world. It does not prescribe what the world must look like.

  1.  FROM THE CARIBBEAN TO THE WORLD, FROM THE WORLD TO THE CARIBBEAN

The founding philosophy of CPGNNews rests on a continuous intellectual movement between the Caribbean and the wider world.

From the Caribbean to the world means that Caribbean realities, debates, achievements, challenges and ideas deserve to be understood as part of the international conversation rather than treated as marginal subjects. It means bringing Caribbean societies into the broader analysis of international politics, economics, culture, technology, development and human affairs.

From the world to the Caribbean means that Caribbean societies must also have access to serious understanding of the forces that influence their present and their future. Decisions taken in Washington, Ottawa, Brussels, Beijing, Moscow, New Delhi, London, Paris, Brasília, Johannesburg or elsewhere can have consequences far beyond their immediate geographical surroundings.

CPGNNews therefore seeks to build bridges of understanding rather than walls of perception. Its international vocation is neither an abandonment of its Caribbean roots nor an attempt to speak from outside the region. It is an invitation to place the Caribbean within the world and the world within Caribbean understanding.

  1.  JOURNALISM IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST

CPGNNews defines journalism as a public responsibility. Its purpose is not simply to attract attention, reproduce statements or follow the rhythm of the news cycle. Journalism in the public interest requires accuracy, verification, context, pluralism, intellectual independence, professional integrity and respect for human dignity.

CPGNNews seeks to make clear distinctions between verified facts, reported information, allegations, interpretations, analysis and opinion. When information remains uncertain, that uncertainty must not be concealed behind artificial certainty. When significant errors occur, they must be corrected with appropriate transparency.

Public interest does not mean telling audiences only what is comfortable or popular. It means pursuing matters whose understanding may contribute to informed citizenship, institutional accountability, social awareness, public debate and a better understanding of the forces shaping human societies. The public deserves journalism that respects its intelligence.

  1.  INDEPENDENCE AS A CONDITION OF CREDIBILITY

Editorial independence is not an abstract principle for CPGNNews. It is a condition of credibility.

The institution does not define its journalism through political allegiance, ideological conformity, governmental preference, commercial pressure or institutional convenience. Its editorial responsibility cannot be transferred to a political actor, public authority, corporation, donor, sponsor, partner, advertiser, foundation or other external interest.

Financial and philanthropic partnerships may contribute to the sustainability of public interest journalism, but they do not purchase editorial conclusions. Institutional affiliation does not create editorial privilege. Access does not create obligation. Funding does not create ownership of editorial judgment.

Independence also requires intellectual discipline. A journalist or researcher must be able to question assumptions, examine evidence, recognize uncertainty and revise conclusions when facts require it. Independence is therefore not simply freedom from external control. It is also the responsibility to resist internal complacency.

  1.  FACTS, CONTEXT AND INTELLECTUAL RIGOR

Facts are the foundation of journalism, but facts without context can produce misunderstanding. CPGNNews seeks to establish not only what happened, but also how and why it happened, who is affected, what evidence exists, what interests may be involved, what historical or institutional forces are relevant, what remains uncertain and what consequences may follow.

This approach requires patience. It requires distinguishing between what is known, what has been reported, what is alleged, what has been demonstrated and what remains open to investigation. It also requires recognizing that complex events rarely have a single explanation. Intellectual rigor does not mean pretending that every question has a simple answer. It means refusing to simplify reality merely because simplicity is easier to communicate.

  1. HUMAN DIGNITY AT THE CENTRE OF JOURNALISM

Behind every statistic stands a human life. CPGNNews seeks to ensure that its journalism does not reduce individuals or communities to abstractions, political categories or anonymous numbers. Wars, humanitarian crises, poverty, migration, displacement, inequality, political violence and social exclusion must be reported with seriousness and without exploiting human suffering for spectacle.

Particular care must be given to vulnerable populations, children, victims and communities whose voices are frequently absent from dominant narratives. Respect for dignity does not require avoiding difficult realities. It requires presenting them responsibly. The purpose of journalism is to illuminate human reality, not to consume it.

  1.  AN INTERNATIONAL EDITORIAL HORIZON

CPGNNews is structured around an international editorial horizon encompassing Haiti and the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Asia Pacific and the wider international system.

Its journalism may address political affairs, diplomacy, international relations, economics, development, law, institutions, technology, science, culture, migration, the environment, humanitarian questions and other subjects of significant public interest.

The international perspective of CPGNNews is not based on the accumulation of geographical labels. It is based on the understanding that contemporary events are increasingly interconnected and that a meaningful account of one society may require knowledge of developments occurring elsewhere. International journalism, in this sense, is not simply journalism produced about distant places. It is journalism capable of understanding relationships between places.

  1.  JOURNALISM, ANALYSIS AND RESEARCH

CPGNNews brings together journalism, analysis and research while maintaining the distinctions between them. Reporting seeks to establish and communicate facts. Investigation seeks to uncover information that may otherwise remain hidden. Analysis seeks to interpret facts and identify their meaning, relationships and implications. Research provides deeper inquiry, evidence, comparative perspectives and intellectual frameworks.

These approaches can reinforce one another without becoming indistinguishable. CPGNNews therefore develops long form journalism, investigations, strategic reports, global strategic studies, special reports, interviews, explanatory journalism, documentaries, podcasts and other forms of public interest knowledge. The objective is not simply to publish more material, but to create work that remains useful after the immediate news cycle has passed.

  1.  MULTILINGUALISM AS AN INSTRUMENT OF ACCESS AND UNDERSTANDING

Language is more than a technical vehicle for transmitting information. It is part of the way societies understand reality. CPGNNews operates with English, French and Spanish as principal publication languages while seeking to make its work accessible through Haitian Creole, Portuguese, German, Arabic, Chinese, Hebrew, Hindi, Japanese and other languages as its multilingual architecture develops.

Where technology assists translation or language processing, human review and editorial responsibility remain essential. The objective is not to erase linguistic differences but to make knowledge more accessible while preserving meaning, nuance and context. A genuinely international media institution must be capable of crossing linguistic boundaries without sacrificing intellectual coherence.

  1.  MULTIMEDIA JOURNALISM AND THE FUTURE OF PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE

The contemporary public sphere no longer exists within a single medium. Written journalism, photography, audio, video, documentaries, podcasts, digital storytelling, television and radio can each contribute to public understanding in different ways. CPGNNews therefore develops a multimedia environment in which different formats can complement one another while remaining subject to the same fundamental standards of accuracy, independence, context and responsibility.

The medium may change. The editorial responsibility does not. Technology can expand access, improve storytelling and create new forms of public knowledge. It can also accelerate misinformation, manipulation and superficiality. CPGNNews therefore approaches technological innovation with openness and professional caution.

  1.  ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND HUMAN RESPONSIBILITY

Artificial intelligence is becoming part of the contemporary information environment. CPGNNews recognizes its potential to assist journalism and research, including in areas such as information organization, translation, transcription, data analysis, accessibility and research support. But technology cannot replace editorial judgment.

Artificial intelligence may assist the journalist, researcher or editor, but responsibility for verification, interpretation, contextualization, ethical judgment and final publication remains human. CPGNNews will not treat technological efficiency as a substitute for professional accountability. The future of journalism will be shaped by technology, but its credibility will continue to depend on human responsibility.

  1.  A KNOWLEDGE COMMUNITY WITHOUT INTELLECTUAL UNIFORMITY

CPGNNews seeks to create a broad community of knowledge bringing journalism into dialogue with researchers, academics, economists, scientists, diplomats, legal specialists, policy experts, entrepreneurs, civil society actors and independent thinkers.

Expertise can enrich journalism, but expertise does not automatically become journalism. CPGNNews maintains the responsibility to examine claims, verify evidence and preserve editorial independence regardless of the authority or reputation of a source.

Pluralism does not mean that every claim is equally supported by evidence. Intellectual openness requires the willingness to consider different perspectives; intellectual rigor requires the ability to distinguish stronger evidence from weaker evidence. CPGNNews therefore welcomes disagreement without embracing intellectual relativism.

  1.  THE CARIBBEAN AS A PERSPECTIVE, NOT AN IDEOLOGY

CPGNNews is rooted in the Caribbean without claiming to speak for a single Caribbean voice. The region contains diverse histories, political traditions, languages, societies and experiences. There is no single Caribbean perspective capable of representing them all.

The Caribbean identity of CPGNNews is therefore understood as a perspective and a point of departure rather than an ideology. It encourages attention to realities that are sometimes overlooked by dominant international narratives while maintaining openness toward perspectives originating elsewhere. To be rooted is not to be confined. To have a perspective is not to reject others.

  1.  GOVERNANCE, TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Credibility requires institutional clarity. CPGNNews operates within an institutional framework provided by the Haitian Humanitarian Alliance for Inclusion, Dignity and Empowerment, HHAIDE, while maintaining its independent editorial authority and professional responsibility.

HHAIDE provides an institutional framework; it is not the editorial voice of CPGNNews. CPGNNews journalism does not constitute HHAIDE institutional communication. This distinction is fundamental. CPGNNews may report on HHAIDE, its activities, programs, decisions or public actions in a descriptive, analytical or investigative manner, whether the evidence supports favorable, critical or mixed conclusions. Institutional affiliation cannot create editorial privilege, and institutional relationships cannot determine editorial outcomes. The same principle applies to all other relationships maintained by CPGNNews. Governance must protect the conditions under which journalism can remain independent, transparent and accountable.

  1.  ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY WITHOUT EDITORIAL DEPENDENCE

Public interest journalism requires resources. Independence cannot be sustained through ideals alone. CPGNNews therefore recognizes the importance of diversified and transparent sources of financial sustainability, including financial and philanthropic partnerships, grants, donations, advertising, sponsorships, subscriptions, commercial activities and other legitimate forms of support consistent with its mission. Such relationships must never determine editorial conclusions.

The economic model of CPGNNews must serve the sustainability of journalism rather than transform journalism into an instrument of economic dependence. Diversification is therefore not simply a financial strategy. It is also an editorial safeguard.

  1.  BUILDING TRUST THROUGH PROFESSIONAL CONSISTENCY

Trust is not declared. It is earned. It is earned through accuracy, verification, transparency, corrections, responsible sourcing, protection of legitimate confidentiality, respect for disagreement and intellectual honesty regarding uncertainty. CPGNNews understands that credibility is built over time through consistency. A single publication may attract attention, but a sustained record of responsible journalism creates institutional trust.

The objective is therefore not to appear infallible. It is to demonstrate that truth is pursued seriously, that errors are acknowledged responsibly and that editorial decisions are guided by professional principles rather than convenience.

  1.  A DIFFERENT RHYTHM OF JOURNALISM

The digital environment rewards speed. CPGNNews believes that journalism also needs time. There are moments when rapid reporting is necessary. There are others when understanding requires investigation, comparison, historical perspective, consultation of sources and careful reflection.

CPGNNews therefore gives particular importance to long form journalism, investigations, strategic analysis, special reports, research and documentary work. These formats allow questions to be pursued beyond the immediate cycle of attention and provide audiences with material capable of supporting deeper understanding. The purpose is not to move more slowly for its own sake. It is to take the time necessary when complexity demands it.

  1.  A WORLD VIEW WITHOUT INTELLECTUAL BORDERS

CPGNNews approaches the world with curiosity rather than caricature. Different societies must be understood within their own histories, institutions, cultures and circumstances. International journalism must avoid the temptation to interpret every society through the assumptions of another.

At the same time, respect for difference does not require abandoning critical judgment. CPGNNews seeks to remain open to multiple perspectives while evaluating claims according to evidence, context and professional standards. The institution’s international vocation therefore rests on intellectual openness without intellectual surrender.

  1.  THE CPGNNEWS EDITORIAL PERSPECTIVE

The editorial perspective of CPGNNews can be expressed through a disciplined approach to journalism: observe carefully, question intelligently, verify rigorously, contextualize deeply, respect human dignity and remain intellectually independent. This perspective is not a political doctrine. It does not prescribe a particular ideology, government, party or institutional model. It defines instead the posture with which CPGNNews approaches the world.

Its journalism may challenge power, examine institutions, question established narratives, investigate failures, recognize achievements or explore competing interpretations. What determines the editorial position is not predetermined allegiance but evidence, public interest and professional judgment.

  1.  THE FOUNDING COMMITMENT

CPGNNews was founded with a commitment to three permanent responsibilities: truth as a discipline, independence as a responsibility and human dignity as a fundamental consideration of journalism. The public does not simply need more information. It needs better understanding.

Better understanding requires facts, but also context. It requires information, but also interpretation. It requires access to different perspectives, but also the intellectual capacity to distinguish evidence from assertion. CPGNNews accepts this responsibility as part of its founding purpose. Its ambition is to contribute to a public sphere in which citizens can think more clearly, institutions can be examined more seriously and international realities can be understood with greater depth.

  1.  A LIVING FOUNDING DOCUMENT

This Manifesto is a founding document, but it is not intended to become a frozen declaration. Journalism will continue to change. Technology will continue to transform the production and circulation of information. Geopolitical realities will evolve. New forms of public communication will emerge, and new ethical questions will inevitably follow. CPGNNews must therefore remain capable of learning, adapting and improving.

What must remain constant are the principles that justify its existence: editorial independence, accuracy, verification, context, pluralism, human dignity, public interest, intellectual rigor and professional responsibility. The institution may evolve in its methods and formats without abandoning the principles that give those methods and formats meaning.

CONCLUSION

CPGNNews was founded to become a trusted space for journalism, knowledge, analysis, research, dialogue and international understanding. It seeks to inform without reducing complexity, analyze without imposing conclusions, question without caricaturing, investigate without becoming captive to power, use technology without surrendering human responsibility and remain rooted in the Caribbean without being confined by geography. Its point of origin is the Caribbean. Its editorial horizon is the world. Its responsibility is to both.
